This tower defense game doesn't pretend to be anything more than it is. You pop balloons, or "bloons," by placing cartoon monkeys with different weapons along a set path. It's straightforward but surprisingly profound. Whether you're a casual player or want to grind out perfect strategies, Bloons TD 6 meets you there.
There’s no story. Just bloons coming in waves and monkeys taking them out. Yet the loop is satisfying. Watching hundreds of balloons shredded by crossbows, lasers, and dart throwers is mindless fun. The game slowly builds in difficulty. You can play a map at an easy level, but as you climb up, the challenge becomes very real.
Visually, the game is clean. It’s cartoonish but not cluttered. You can always tell what’s happening on the screen—even during a full-on barrage of high-level bloons. It doesn’t try too hard to be something it's not. It’s playful, strategic, and more addictive than you’d expect.
The replay value is high. There are over 60 maps. Some are easy and open; others are tight, with weird paths and restrictions. The hero units add personality, and the upgrades are varied enough that no two players approach the game in the same way. You unlock monkeys, upgrades, and cosmetics slowly, but there's always something to work toward.
It's single-player focused, but there's also a surprisingly smooth co-op. You and your friends can build strategies together or completely mess them up. The community does a lot with custom challenges; even without official events, people keep
returning.
This game fits if you're looking for something you can pick up and put down. However, it also rewards hours of attention if you want to delve deeper. Whether grinding medals or watching chaos unfold, it's a good time.
Step 1: Open the game and pick a map. Choose Easy if you're starting. Your goal is to stop waves of balloons (bloons) from reaching the exit.
Step 2: Place monkey towers near the start of the path. Tap the tower icon, select one like Dart Monkey, and tap the ground to deploy it.
Step 3: Start the wave. Tap the play button, and balloons will begin to move. Your towers automatically attack.
Step 4: Earn cash by popping bloons. Use this to buy more towers or upgrade existing ones. Tap a tower, then choose "Upgrade." Upgrades enhance the character's speed and strength or grant new abilities.
Step 5: Learn tower types. Tack Shooters hit close-range in a spread, Snipers shoot from anywhere, and Wizards deal area damage. Mix them to handle different bloon types.
Step 6: Be aware of camo and lead bloons. Use specific towers, such as Ninja Monkeys for camo or Bomb Towers for lead. Regular towers won't always work.
Step 7: Between rounds, build or upgrade your units. New bloons arrive in different shapes, speeds, and strengths. You'll face MOABs (giant bloons) after several rounds.
Step 8: Survive all waves to win. Use Hero units once unlocked. They level up and bring powerful abilities. Keep improving your setup each round.
